Jack Reed Showcase
Last weekend we saw a handful of school records go down in our back to back meets at RIT and Nazareth. At RIT, Shannon broke her school record for the long jump with a leap of 12-07.50. Natalee chopped another tenth of a second off of her 55m, finishing in 8.39 seconds to reset the school record. Graysen tossed 24-01.00 in the weight throw to reset her school record as well. There were plenty of other personal bests, including a huge 3200m by Johnny to drop over 40 seconds off of his previous best, Brendan going under 11.0 in the hurdles, and Hannah dropping another 20 seconds in the race walk. We are starting to round in to shape and perform well at the right time of the season!
At Naz, Lizzie started the day with a new school record in the 3000m. She went out hot with the front pack, and 1000m in she was on page to break 11:10. The group fell off the pace and she still rallied hard to break her own personal best by 15 seconds. The girls 4x800m was next and we were unsure if they would finish the race with some nagging hamstring injuries. Liv held up and clocked a 2:50, followed by Jenna in a PR of 2:31, Hope a PR of 2:46 and NV an indoor best of 2:44. The girls time of 10:53 is only 8 seconds off of what they did last spring at state qualifiers! This was followed up by a huge 1000m (3:15.90) by Jenna. She went out in 2:39.51 through 800m and closed in a ridiculous 36.40 to nearly break her school record - it bodes well for a future 1500m. Hope dropped 6 seconds off of her 600m PR, NV dropped 6 seconds off of her 1000m PR, and Lizzie posted her first 1k time of the season.
Pierce raced next and threw down a section leading time of 4:30.22 in the 1600m. Jacob dropped his PR to 5:20 and looks poised to go under 5:10 in an ideal race. Bryson knocked down his PR in the 600m to 1:36 and is looking ready to tackle a fast 1000m in the near future. Zach, dealing with some hip pain, was on pace to go under 37 seconds in the 300m at the 200m mark, and will look to bounce back when he is back to 100%. Braydon and Pierce ran the 2nd and 3rd best times in school history to run the 1st and 2nd fastest time in our class. Great job everyone! We are back in action Sunday in a small meet at RIT.

First half is underway....
After a very long break from the blog, we are back in action! Indoor is underway, and with 4 meets in the books we have already started to reset school records. Some of the highlights so far are below. Heading in to this weekend, we have a meet on Friday night at RIT and Saturday morning at Nazareth. We have a few select entries for the Nazareth invite, stay tuned for those! I will do my best to update the record boards on here ASAP throughout the season.
